RJ45 to be a standard type of connector for network cable is widely used in Local Area Network and Wide Area Networking.
RJ45 stands for Registered Jack 45. RJ45 generally refers to RJ45 connector, RJ45 cable and RJ45 port. An RJ45 connector is a connector to eight wires used to connect computers on a local area network (LAN) via Ethernet. RJ45 originally used in telephone wiring was a 8P2C (8 position 2 wires) modular connector whose pin 5 is connected to the tip and pin 4 connects the ring. RJ45 is 8P8C (8 position 8 conductor) connector with all the conductors present. RJ45 today is almost exclusively used to indicate the type of Ethernet computer connectors. In general, all 8P8C connectors are also referred to as RJ45 connectors.
RJ45 cables fall into three main types, namely a) straight-through, b) crossover c) rolled. The colored wires are in the same sequence at both ends of the through cable. In the crossover cable before (left) and second colored wires to a cable end are the third and fourth colored wires at the other end of the cable, while the third and fourth colored wires at one end are the first and second in the other end . The colored wires at one end of the cable are in the reverse order of the colored wires at the other end of the cable into the laminate type. The most common RJ45 connector uses four of 8P8C wires for Ethernet communications. Pins 1 and 2 are the transmit pair, while pins 3 and 6 are the receive pair.

The benefits of using RJ45 / Ethernet connections are the data rates at high speed until it reaches the levels of Gigabit / s over long distances . The other competing LAN standards such as Token Ring, Token Bus, etc., suffer degradation as when new nodes come into LAN. With an RJ45 connector locking boot remains free from anywhere disconnection involuntary intake.
